Valley Torah came in 2nd place in the Columbus Baseball Invitational. After winning three games, we lost 1-0 against Frisch in the Championship Game (this is the 9th year in a row that Frisch has won). In this video, our trophy is presented to Max Leibowitz, team captain.
Our star pitcher, Dovie Solomon, won the MVP award for the Tournament.
A walk-off hit by Max Leibowitz leads to a win against Ida Crown and a trip to the championship game vs. Frisch.

On Tuesday VTHS girls had a wonderful time celebrating Yom Ha’atzma’ut, Israel’s Independence Day. The lunch room became Cafe Valley Torah, decked in blue and white and set up like an Israeli coffee house. The girls felt they were transported during the program to Israel. Just as is done in Israel, we began with a commemoration of Yom Hazikaron, Israel’s memorial day for the fallen soldiers and victims of terror attacks. We then continued by celebrating the land and some of what it has to offer. The girls enjoyed a delicious falafel lunch and played Israeli games in the “cafe.” Each Ivrit class proceeded to present a scene from Israel which they wrote and performed, and which was accompanied by a slide show showcasing various aspects of the land. From the plane ride to Israel, to Tiyulim, school, and a tour of the country, to the zoo, Shuk Machane Yehuda, an Israeli coffee house and food, and finally to a bus ride in Israel and surprise ice cream treat– the girls truly had a memorable experience! Last but not least, they enjoyed “Shoko Besakit,” chocolate milk Israeli style, in individual plastic bags. What a fun day to remember– Lehitra’ot Be-Yisrael!
