Basketball Team Update

bb-senior-day-1

For only the second time in VTHS history, the Varsity Basketball team made it to the CIF Semifinals. Unfortunately, we lost a hard fought battle to Holy Martyrs by the score of 65-59. Thank you Coach Lior Schwartzberg for your hard work.

The season is not over yet: The team will be heading to New York this week for the YU Sarachek Tournament. We are seeded 5th in the Tournament and our first game will be Thursday, March 2 at 4:00 PM PST. You can follow the team and even watch the games live at the Sarachek website.

The students need to cover their own travel and other tournament expenses. For many of them, this will be impossible without your help. Please help our boys get to the tournament by visiting the VTHS Sports Giving Page.

Alumnus Makes a Splash

Ami Horowitz is a political analyst, filmmaker and member of VTHS Class of 1990. When President Trump referenced Ami’s video about immigrants to Sweden, the Twittersphere (and everyone else) went wild. The story – and Ami – made it to the front page of the New York Times. Even more importantly, Ami was the MC at the VTHS Dinner this past November (pictured below). Congratulations Ami!

Tu B’Shevat

This week, VTHS girls were happy to participate in an afternoon of eventful activities on team building and preparing ourselves for the upcoming holiday of Tu b’Shvat. With the help of many staff members, teachers and student council members and volunteers, the activities included obstacle courses, tower building and verbal exercises for better communication. The activities were followed by great fruit treats, a chocolate fountain and inspiring divrei Torah from Mrs. Gross.
